Mick Thomson is an American musician. He is best known as being one of two guitarists in the Grammy-winning heavy metal band Slipknot. When performing with Slipknot, Thomson is known as "Number Seven", being that the eight piece band follows a numbering scheme for its members, ranging from 0-8. (Number 2 is still assigned to deceased bassist and co-founding member Paul Gray). His number is also tattooed on his left arm, as "seven", which can be seen in music videos such as Dead Memories. During his interview from Voliminal: Inside the Nine, he has stated that he suffers from severe joint and back pain, which on one occasion temporarily left him unable to walk, and causes him difficulty when performing.
